Josh Billings Freedom in running... all of our dogs have been runners. They LOVE to run. Annie always came home after her jaunts. Some of them were in neighbors pastures and she came home covered in horse dung. Paddy, not so much. When he runs... he runs looking for prey. We are scrambling to catch him.  We are thankful he is aging and at least we THOUGHT we could catch him if he tries to dart out the front door. BUT we have found, we have aged too.  Galatians 5:22-23

C. JoyBell C. Oh my, this time of the year is hard not to think of cool water and the lake, being lazy on the boat, or sitting out on the swing watching the sunset. Think it is time for a weekend out on Golden Pond.  Psalm 15:1-2  "Lord, who may abide in Your ta

Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha Every word spoken, every action we take... causes ripples in the lives of those around us. Those ripples may continue long after we are gone.  John 4:14   But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."  #horsepainting  #lauriepaceart  #equineart Laurie Pace A Texas Art

I'm a child playing dress-up, who can't even recognize herself under her own costume."  Stephanie Perkins  Lola and the Boy Next Door. Having Granddaughters is a blessing. They wear your shoes and old dresses you keep for them. They love parading around the house clopping around in my high heels (Well, I don't wear them any more.) and we have the dresses sached up to stay on them and keep them from tripping when they walk.  Wonder if God does that for us too when we pretend to be something we are not?  1 Samuel 16:7  But the Lord said to Samuel, "

And when your eyes freeze behind the grey window and the ghost of loss gets into you, May a flock of colours, indigo, red, green, and azure blue come to awaken in you a meadow of delight. When the canvas frays in the currach of thought and a stain of ocean blackens beneath you,  May there come across the waters a path of yellow moonlight to bring you safely home. May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours,  May the flu

One after another they massed themselves and fell; the spray tossed itself back with the energy of their fall. The waves were steeped deep-blue save for a pattern of diamond-pointed light on their backs which rippled as the backs of great horses ripple with muscles as they move. The waves fell; withdrew and fell again, like the thud of a great beast stamping." Virginia Woolf, The Waves This piece seems to grow out of this quote. Look at the waves in the horses where they are crossing... the c

It involves you and me." Distracted, Gansey glanced up from the computer screen."Were you talking to me or Ronan?" "Either. I'm flexible." Blue made a small, terrible noise. "I would appreciate if you'd turn your inner eye towards the water."  Not sure why I liked this quote, but think it is the mention of the inner eye.  Our outer eyes open and close to the physical world, but our inner eye is perhaps our soul.  As a believer, the Holy Spirit lives within that in

Jonathan Safran Foer, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"  I buy the gel pen packs that come in many colors.  I love to write with different colors of ink when I am journaling or writing notes or cards to people. Color creates an amazing energy for me in my life, on my palette, in my paintings, my writings and my home. God is a creator of many colors. He is my cons

But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes. All is a miracle." Thich Nhat Hanh, The Miracle of Mindfulness When I start painting I am totally into color, movement and raw emotion. The music is playing loud.  I am literally carried by the spirit of the music and the feel of
